Sorry to bother you again, but I have a blog-related question. I’m in the process of deciding on a new theme for my WordPress blog. I tried the same theme as you, PageLines, but pretty quickly I had a problem: the sidebar started appearing below the main content rather than off to the side. Others have also had this problem (e.g. https://goo.gl/B41jk). Have you found a solution or did it just not happen to you? Would appreciate advice if you have any.
Sorry, I cannot recall having this problem. I am by no means a WordPress authority and I only dabble in html and php. My development process is very much trial and error: Backup everything (via ftp), add something new and if it fails, revert. I’d recommend starting from scratch almost regardless of how far you have gone down the road of customization, because it in my experience saves time compared to trying to nail down the failing bit.
I use version 1.1.3 of the theme, if that means anything. I haven’t dared to upgrade since, because upgrading means losing custom code. I was poking around quite a lot with the source code in the beginning, and I can’t for my life remember all the details, so I suppose I am stuck with this version until the bitter end. 🙂
I tried the latest version and got this common error. It’s so tough to find a decent looking theme out there; one that is aimed just at normal damn blogging, simple and with nice links. I’m currenty wasting my weekend hacking at the code from several themes trying to piece something together. Grrr.
Thanks for your reply, though. Just thought your theme but with red would look like a natural progression for me, but dark forces have foiled my plans.
