Organic materials in semiconductor applications is a marvelous field. There are a number of awesome devices just around the corner. I think the field of organic semiconductors today is where the pharmaceutical industry was in the ’50s or so, meaning: here be fat and juicy blueberries just waiting to be plucked.     Totally true that organic electronics is where its at. There are actual chemistry jobs going in the field too, unlike in most pharmaceutical companies. As the materials are getting more interesting in terms of functionality so is the complexity of their synthesis. Which is a very good thing for synthetic chemists…
